SUMMARY:Culture(s) and Innovation: Claims, Evidence and Policy
DESCRIPTION:Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung
gGmbH\NSymposium\N\NCulture matters for innovation\, say entrepreneurs
and politicians. But their high expectations raise questions. How do
professional\, urban or organizational cultures help the new to emerge?
When does intercultural confrontation foster creative potentials? Can
artistic interventions change the pace with which innovations develop
and spread? Are there general patterns or rules to guide organisations
or political decision makers when they plan to innovate? \N\NThe
symposium explores the claims\, confronts them with evidence from
academic and entrepreneurial experiences\, and provides a European
policy-maker's view on the agenda for research and innovation.
