Prof. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Michael Vollmer ist neuer Herausgeber des renommierten internationalen Wissenschaftsmagazin European Journal of Physics (EJP). Das EJP ist eine referierte wissenschaftliche Zeitschrift des britischen Institute of Physics, die sich insbesondere mit der Hochschullehre der Physik beschäftigt. Das European Journal of Physics erscheint sechs Mal im Jahr und wurde im Jahr 1980 erstmals herausgegeben. Prof. Vollmer ist seit 2006 Mitglied des editorial boards des Zeitschrift und wurde auf der jährlichen Sitzung des Gremiums im September zum neuen editor in chief (Herausgeber) ernannt. Er tritt die Nachfolge seines polnischen Kollegen Prof. Jan Mostowski an, der das Amt von 2010 an innehatte. Prof. Vollmer wird bei seiner Arbeit von über 20 Mitgliedern des international besetzten editorial boards unterstützt.
