Lernen per Video: Vorlesungen kostenlos im Internet verfügbar
Die Leibniz Universität Hannover ist seit Donnerstag, 13. Januar 2010, auf der Internetplattform iTunes U vertreten. Dabei handelt es sich um einen Unterbereich des iTunes Store, wo kostenlos Video- und Audiodateien, aber auch Skripte und andere Lehrmaterialien von Bildungseinrichtungen bereitgestellt werden. Zunächst sind mehr als 100 Vorlesungen und Mitschnitte von Veranstaltungen der Leibniz Universität Hannover bei iTunes U erhältlich, darunter auch Aufzeichnungen der Vortragsreihe „Karriere – Köpfe – Konzerne“ mit Unternehmern und Managern wie beispielsweise Martin Kind, Präsident des Fußballbundesligisten Hannover 96.
„Mit dem Auftritt bei iTunes U folgt die Leibniz Universität dem Vorbild anderer renommierter Hochschulen. Wir beteiligen uns damit am internationalen Wissensaustausch, mit dem Ziel, qualitativ hochwertiges Lehrmaterial weltweit und jederzeit kostenlos verfügbar zu machen“, sagt Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich Barke, Präsident der Leibniz Universität Hannover. Bereitgestellt werden die Inhalte mit Unterstützung der hochschuleigenen eLearning Service Abteilung (elsa). Bisher stehen bereits mehr als 500 Mitschnitte von Vorlesungen zur Verfügung und etwa 1.000 Studierende nutzen das Angebot, sich aufgezeichnete Vorlesungen über das Lernmanagement-System Stud.IP zu Hause anzusehen.

Leibniz Universität Hannover now available on iTunes U
Learning via video: Free lectures available on the Internet
HANOVER, Germany – 13 January 2011. The Leibniz Universität Hannover launched on iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store (www.itunes.de) that offers free audio and video content from leading education institutions. Leibniz Universität Hannover on iTunes U will feature more than 100 lectures and teaching sessions which can be downloaded to a computer, iPhone, iPod or iPad. A highlight includes recordings of the lecture series “Karriere – Köpfe – Konzerne” (Careers – Heads – Companies) with entrepreneurs and managers such as Martin Kind, President of the Bundesliga football club Hannover 96.
“The Leibniz Universität Hannover are following other high-profile higher education institutions on iTunes U. We are therefore contributing to an international exchange in knowledge with the aim of making high-quality teaching materials available for free across the world,” says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich Barke, President of the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
The content for Leibniz Universität Hannover on iTunes U has been supplied by a central service department of the university, the so-called eLearning Service Abteilung (elsa). At present, the department supplies more than 500 lecture recordings. Around 1.000 students use the service to view the recordings at home via the Learning Management System Stud.IP.
