Prof. Voll ist der Direktor des Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding an der Georgetown University, Washington DC. Im Anschluss an seinen Aufenthalt in Berlin reist er nach Köln. Er steht für Interviews zu den Themen 'Islam and the US' sowie 'Muslim-Christian Understanding' zur Verfügung.
Many scholars note that major dimensions of contemporary societal organization have been transformed and that global modernity/post-modernity is a new mode of societal structuring - in other words, the "end of civilization." However, confusion arises because many people identify modernity with "Western Civilization," rather than recognizing that Western Civilization was probably the first old-style civilization to be destroyed by modernity.
