Temperaturen und Strömungen in 450 m Tiefe des hochauflösenden Kieler Computermodells (Momentanaufnahme). Der Agulhasstrom fließt entlang der südafrikanischen Küste. Südwestlich von Kapstadt vollzieht er eine abrupte Kehrtwende zurück in den Indischen Ozean. Dabei schnürt er Wirbel ("Agulhasringe") ab, die warmes und salzreiches Wasser in den Atlantik transportieren.
