Die Fachveranstaltung befasst sich neben dem Einsatz von Technologien zur Radio-Frequenz-Identifikation (RFID) im Bibliothekswesen unter anderem mit der Nahbereich-Kommunikation zum kontaktlosen Austausch von Daten (NFC) sowie dem Einsatz von QR-Codes für optische Lesegeräte, dem 3D-Druck, der Indoor-Lokalisierung und neuen Medientransportsystemen.
Neben Plenumsvorträgen, Workshops und einer Podiumsdiskussion wird es als neues Format am zweiten Veranstaltungstag einen „Ideen-Slam“ geben, bei dem die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer ihre innovativen Projekte und Konzepte mit überzeugender Erzählkunst vorstellen werden.

Das Symposium wendet sich an Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter von Bibliotheken, Vertreter von Anbieter-Industriebereichen und Dienstleistern, Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen sowie Verlagen und Archiven.
