Im weltweiten Wettbewerb um Innovationen setzen aufstrebende Wettbewerber wie China die deutsche und U.S.-amerikanische Wirtschaft unter Druck. Wie können die transatlantischen Partner die Stärken ihrer Innovationssysteme zusammenbringen, um international konkurrenzfähig zu bleiben? Was können wir von der US-Innovationspolitik lernen? Und wie können wir mithilfe von Innovationen globale Zukunftsherausforderungen im eigenen Land angehen?
acatech - Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften lädt gemeinsam mit den U.S. National Academies of Sciences zum ersten transatlantischen Innovationsdialog ein: „Meeting Global Challenges: U.S.-German Innovation Policy“. Neben dem U.S.-Botschafter in Deutschland Philip D. Murphy, Alan Wm. Wolff von der National Academy of Sciences und Staatssekretär Georg Schütte (BMBF) nehmen die acatech Präsidenten Reinhard F. Hüttl und Henning Kagermann an der Konferenz teil.
Im Zentrum stehen der Wandel der Energiesysteme und die Zukunft der industriellen Produktion. Experten aus beiden Ländern diskutieren, inwiefern sich Erfolgsmodelle aus Deutschland und den USA übertragen lassen und wo beide Technologiestandorte stärker kooperieren sollten.
