First International Conference on Consumer Research | ICCR 2014

The Competence Center of Consumer Research North Rhine-Westphalia (CECORE NRW) is inviting researchers from multiple disciplines such as sociology, political science, economics, law, psychology, history, food sciences, environmental sciences, or engineering to register to the "ICCR 2014 | International Conference on Consumer Research: Challenges for Consumer Research and Consumer Policy in Europe" (29-30 September 2014 in Bonn, Germany).

Media representatives and journalists are invited to attend the conference, please use the attached form for your accreditation.

ICCR 2014 brings together state-of-the-art research and supports seminal, multidisciplinary research perspectives for Consumer Research and Consumer Policy in Europe. Hosted by CECORE NRW, a think tank connecting researchers in Germany's biggest state and beyond, the conference features round table discussions with participants from politics, the media, and academic disciplines. Svenja Schulze, Minister of Innovation, Science and Research and Johannes Remmel, Minister for Climate Protection, Environment, Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as important officials from the European Union and other national governments will join the conference to foster networks of researchers, funding agencies, and government officials.

Crucial questions are tackled on the conference: How do consumers actually behave, what obstacles do they face in markets and technologies, are consumers' interests effectively represented? These are classic questions in consumer research. New research questions have been raised in recent times: What is consumers' responsibility for sustainable growth? How can vulnerable consumers be protected? Is there a revolution of consumer-rights?

More than ever, consumer research is in charge to unfold its interdisciplinary potential without sacrificing specific research foci and approaches from different disciplines.

The conference will be held at RCC Regional Museum | LVR-LandesMuseum Bonn, Colmantstr. 14-16, 53113 Bonn, Germany. We are pleased to announce that online registration is now open at https://lcem.lab-concepts.de/registration/iccr2014/en.

We recommend you to register soon since the number of participants is limited. A fee is payable to attend the event, except after arrangement (paper presentation). Special rates are offered to students upon presentation of a student ID.

Conference fees: 200,00 Euro (normal fee), 100,00 Euro (student fee). In general, the registration fees can be paid by bank transfer or credit card.
